Abu dhabi: The UAE Football Association has taken a significant step to support their national football team, "Al-Abyad" (The Whites), by allocating five private planes to transport Emirati fans to Basra. This move aims to boost the morale of the team during their crucial second leg match of the Asian qualifier for the 2026 World Cup intercontinental playoff against the Iraqi national team next Tuesday. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi authorities have also extended a warm gesture by allowing Emirati fans to enter Iraq without visa fees. Fans will be granted visas upon arrival at Basra International Airport without the need to stamp their passports. This decision reflects the friendly relations between the two nations and is in appreciation of the hospitality shown by the UAE towards Iraqi fans.
