Lisbon: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met with Interpol Secretary General Valdecis Orcosa to discuss joint coordination in combating crime and pursuing fugitives. A statement from his media office said: "As part of his series of meetings and his visit to Portugal, Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met with Interpol Secretary General Valdecis Orcosa."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two sides discussed strengthening joint coordination on security issues, combating crime, and pursuing fugitives. The meeting also addressed Iraq's efforts to develop its capabilities and skills, as well as the importance of exchanging expertise and enhancing resources to combat all forms of transnational organized crime.
