Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting to follow up on projects in the capital, Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the progress of road and bridge projects, intersection improvements, and "Baghdad is More Beautiful 1 and 2" campaigns. The review highlighted the completion of 14 projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and the ongoing work on the remaining two.

The meeting further addressed rehabilitation projects for major highways in Baghdad, including the Army Canal Road, Muhammad al-Qasim Road, Ataba Bin Ghazwan Road, Salah al-Din Road, and the Army Canal Tunnel near the Ministry of Transport. These projects are set to commence soon.

Prime Minister al-Sudani underscored the importance of continuing efforts to remove over 185,000 encroachments, while also providing alternatives for affected citizens. He also highlighted the significance of multi-story parking garage projects in reducing traffic congestion and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the city's streets.
