Al-Maliki Engages with Basra and Diyala Governors on Development Projects and Government Performance

Baghdad: Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, met today in his office with the governors of Diyala and Basra, each separately, to discuss the progress of executive work in their governorates and review the performance of government departments and service projects.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by Maliki's office indicated that during the meetings, congratulations were exchanged on the successful elections and the positive atmosphere that accompanied them, reflecting everyone's commitment to the democratic process in the country.

The statement added that the progress of executive work in the two governorates was also discussed, along with a review of the performance of government departments and ongoing service and development projects. The challenges facing local administrations and ways to address them were also discussed to ensure improved services and enhanced stability and development.

The head of the State of Law Coalition affirmed his commitment to supporting local efforts that contribute to the development of the provinces and improve performance levels, emphasizing the importance of integrated roles between the central government and local administrations to fulfill citizens' aspirations.

For their part, the two governors presented a brief overview of the work being done in their provinces, praising the communication and support they receive in their efforts to enhance service delivery and executive functions.
