Doha: The lineup of teams qualified for the group stage of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, which will be hosted by Qatar from December 1st to 18th, was finalized on Wednesday evening. Four new teams qualified for the group stage after the conclusion of the qualifying rounds: Bahrain, after defeating Djibouti (1-0); Oman, after overcoming Somalia 4-1 on penalties following a goalless draw; Comoros, after defeating Libya 4-2 on penalties following a 4-4 draw; and Sudan, after defeating Lebanon 2-1.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, three teams – Syria, Palestine, and Kuwait – qualified on Tuesday after winning their respective matches against South Sudan (2-0), Libya (4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw), and Mauritania (2-0). In addition to the seven teams that qualified through the qualifiers, nine other teams qualified directly based on the FIFA rankings: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates.

ll compete in the finals of the tournament, which is being held for the second consecutive time in Qatar using a group stage format with 16 teams. After the seven qualifying teams were determined, the four groups were finalized. Group A includes host nation Qatar, Tunisia, Syria, and Palestine; Group B comprises Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Comoros; Group C includes Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, and Kuwait; and finally, Group D, the last group, includes Algeria, Iraq, Bahrain, and Sudan.

The group stage matches will be held from December 1st to 9th, with the quarterfinals taking place on December 11th and 12th, the semifinals on December 15th, and the final on December 18th, as in the previous edition, coinciding with Qatar’s National Day celebrations.
