Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, has directed the creation of a high-level investigative committee to probe the bombing of the Khor Mor oil field. The investigation aims to identify those involved, uncover their supporters, and ensure legal accountability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office released a statement emphasizing Iraq's ongoing journey towards stability on both regional and international fronts. However, it highlighted that terrorist factions are attempting to destabilize the country, citing the recent attack on the Khor Mor oil field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as a prime example.

The statement further detailed that Al-Sudani convened an emergency meeting that included the Ministers of Defense and Interior, alongside heads of security services, to evaluate the impact of the attack. As a result of this meeting, Al-Sudani ordered the formation of a high-level investigative committee. This committee, led by the Minister of Interior, will include the head of the National Intelligence Service and the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with additional support from the international coalition. A technical committee composed of relevant authorities within the Joint Operations Command has also been established to assist in the investigation. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to uncover those responsible for the attack and hold them accountable under the law.
