Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Germany, particularly in the areas of security, migration, economic and investment cooperation, and climate change, with a focus on the industrial, technological, and energy sectors.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Sudani's media office announced that he received the new German Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Krieber. The meeting underscored the continuation of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Iraq is experiencing security and stability, which allows it to play a crucial role in the region. He pointed out that the recent parliamentary elections were conducted smoothly and transparently, demonstrating the consolidation of Iraq's democratic experience. The elections saw broad popular participation, which he stated is evidence of the Iraqi people's confidence in the political process.
In response, the German Ambassador, Daniel Krieber, disclosed that a German economic delegation is set to visit Iraq. The purpose of this visit is to explore opportunities to enhance cooperation and work towards achieving development and prosperity in Iraq.
