Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's keenness to strengthen its bilateral relations with Lebanon in a way that serves the shared interests of both countries, supports Lebanon's stability, and preserves its security and territorial integrity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani received the Director of Lebanese General Security, Major General Hassan Chuqair. The meeting discussed mechanisms for developing security cooperation between the two countries, particularly in combating drug smuggling, cross-border organized crime, and enhancing intelligence coordination, in order to support efforts aimed at reinforcing regional stability.

Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq's commitment to deepening its ties with Lebanon, stressing the importance of boosting cooperation and coordination to confront security challenges and achieve stability across the region.

For his part, Major General Chuqair expressed Lebanon's appreciation for Iraq's supportive positions at all levels, emphasizing the importance of unifying efforts and coordinating positions to address crises and strengthen security and stability.
