Doha: Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized that handling crises with force rather than the rule of law results in an international system plagued by incomplete and ineffective solutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein participated in the opening of the 2025 Doha Forum in its 23rd edition, held under the theme: 'Embedding Justice: From Promises to Tangible Reality.' Hussein also engaged in several bilateral meetings with his counterparts during the event.

The forum was inaugurated by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani delivered the opening speech, highlighting this year's theme as a reflection of the widening gap between rhetoric and practice, with justice often missing in international law.

He pointed out that managing crises through force and the lack of accountability for aggressors contribute to transforming the international order into one marked by partial and insufficient solutions.

During the opening session, the Amir of Qatar awarded the Doha Forum 2025 Award to Alex Thier and Saad Mohsen for their significant efforts in expanding educational access for children in Gaza and Afghanistan.

The session also included a keynote speech by Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, who discussed the importance of global cooperation in providing resources for humanitarian and developmental initiatives worldwide.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, Fuad Hussein arrived in Doha earlier to participate in the forum's activities.
