Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani launched, via video conference on Saturday, the implementation of two projects: the road linking Karbala Governorate and the rehabilitation and expansion of the expressway linking the Kifl-Qasim axis, as well as the construction of a second lane, in Najaf Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office indicated that "Al-Sudani launched, via video conference, the implementation works for two projects: a road linking the holy city of Karbala to the expressway, spanning 34 km, with the construction of 14 river-crossing bridges, including one over the Euphrates River; and the rehabilitation and expansion of the expressway linking the Al-Kifl-Al-Qasim axis, and the construction of a second lane in the holy city of Najaf, spanning 30 km, with the construction of five overpasses in each direction and two grade-separated intersections."
