Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Israeli actions in Syria are tied to the Syrian Democratic Forces' (SDF) reluctance to integrate into the Syrian army. He noted that any agreement between the SDF and Damascus would coincide with an Israeli-Syrian understanding, emphasizing the importance of resolving the Syria-Israel border dispute peacefully. Fidan highlighted that both countries' borders are internationally recognized and should not be violated, accusing Israel of adopting an expansionist approach despite no real threat from the Syrian government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fidan reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to advancing the Gaza peace plan, criticizing Israel for failing to implement key provisions while continuing actions against Palestinians. He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to depopulate Gaza and bring it under full Israeli control. Fidan warned that failure of the peace plan could lead to 'greater genocide and forced displacement.'

Fidan also expressed concern over the potential division of Sudan amid ongoing conflict and massive displacement since 2023. On the topic of the Russia-Ukraine war, he urged Europe to assist Kyiv in making 'difficult but necessary decisions,' warning that the Black Sea has effectively become an extension of the conflict, with risks of the war spreading into other parts of Europe.
