Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, hosted a meeting with former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Wednesday evening at his guesthouse. The discussions focused on mechanisms for managing the next phase in Iraq’s political landscape.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the dialogue covered the latest national developments, the outcomes of the recent elections, and strategies for managing the upcoming phase. They also exchanged views on recent understandings reached by national political forces concerning constitutional entitlements.

Al-Mandalawi highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue among political blocs to bridge differences and expedite the formation of a strong national government. He emphasized the need for a government capable of overcoming challenges and effectively managing the forthcoming stage.

He further stressed the importance of holding the first session of the sixth parliamentary term within its constitutionally designated timeframe. This step is crucial for completing all constitutional requirements and prioritizing national interests. Al-Mandalawi also called for fulfilling the electoral promises made by the winning forces to restore public confidence in government institutions.
