Damascus: The Syrian Interior Ministry announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization. The cell was active in the Idlib and Aleppo governorates and was involved in carrying out several attacks targeting security and military patrols.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry said its forces conducted a precise security operation following continuous monitoring of the cell members' movements. This operation resulted in the neutralization of the cell's leader and the arrest of eight members, in addition to the seizure of quantities of weapons and ammunition.

The Ministry stated that a second security operation, carried out based on gathered intelligence, led to the arrest of the remaining members of the cell, bringing the total number of detainees to eight.

The Ministry stated that the detainees confessed to carrying out three terrorist operations, including targeting a highway patrol in Maaret al-Numan, attacking Ministry of Defense personnel on the Saraqib bridge in the Idlib countryside, and carrying out an armed attack targeting customs officers in the Zarba area of the Aleppo countryside.
