Baghdad: An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale struck the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia early Wednesday morning: The earthquake was recorded by the Saudi Geological Survey's National Seismic Monitoring Network at 1:11:23 AM local time.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Survey stated that the epicenter was located approximately 9 kilometers east of Haradh and measured 4 on the Richter scale.

This seismic event coincides with weather alerts issued by the National Center for Meteorology in the past few hours. These alerts cover nine administrative regions of the Kingdom and warn of expected light to moderate rain, snowfall, strong winds, thunderstorms, and reduced horizontal visibility. The alerts indicated that these weather conditions would begin early Wednesday morning and continue into the evening.

The eastern region of Saudi Arabia, where the earthquake occurred, is expected to experience rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms that could further affect visibility, compounding the challenges posed by the earthquake.
