Maaret al-numan: Syrian media reported on Tuesday that a mass grave was discovered inside a former State Security building in the city of Maaret al-Numan in the southern Idlib countryside. The discovery was made during renovation work being carried out inside the building, prompting immediate action from authorities. According to National Iraqi News Agency, specialized teams were dispatched to the site following the discovery, while security forces suspended the renovation work and restricted access to the area to ensure the integrity of the site. This disturbing find adds to the growing list of mass graves uncovered in the region, highlighting the grim remnants of Syria's tumultuous past. In late November, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the discovery of four mass graves on 60th Street, north of Homs, which contained the remains of dozens of individuals. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) has previously reported on the uncovering of several mass graves across the country in recent months, reveali ng the remains of hundreds who perished during the years of the revolution under the former regime's forces. It has been noted that the Syrian Network for Human Rights has documented approximately 177,000 cases of enforced disappearance since March 2011, underscoring the scale of the human rights violations that have occurred during the conflict.
