Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, on Wednesday. A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said the meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Iraq and France, as well as cooperation with the European Union more broadly, and discussed ways to enhance and develop them while strengthening joint cooperation across various sectors. The talks also covered a number of issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting underscored the two countries' shared commitment to expanding cooperation and activating signed memoranda of understanding, particularly in the energy sector, in addition to economic, educational, and security fields.
