Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday welcomed the Italian government's decision to partially revise its travel advisory guidelines for Italian citizens wishing to visit the Republic of Iraq, a move reflecting the notable improvement in the country's security situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision was taken in light of the positive security developments witnessed across Iraqi cities, noting that it represents an objective assessment of the current security environment and contributes to strengthening international confidence in Iraq.

The ministry added that the revision of travel advisories is expected to support prospects for bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Italy in the tourism, economic, and cultural fields, in addition to encouraging visits and exchanges between the two friendly countries.

It pointed out that this positive development followed the recent visit of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein to the Italian capital, Rome, during which he held constructive talks with his Italian counterpart. The discussions covered various aspects of bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on assessing security conditions and facilitating travel between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to continuing coordination and cooperation with international partners in a manner that enhances stability and consolidates Iraq's position as a safe destination for visitors.
