Baghdad: The Reconstruction and Development Coalition affirmed today its commitment to the coordination framework and its unity. In an initiative addressed to the leaders of the Coordination Framework, the coalition emphasized its dedication to national responsibility and constitutional timelines related to the election of the three presidencies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the coalition submitted a proposal aimed at resolving the current deadlock in selecting the candidate for the largest bloc. The proposal underscores the importance of adherence to the Coordination Framework and maintaining its unity, while advocating for consensus-driven decision-making to ensure a swift resolution.

The criteria set forth by the coalition for selecting the Prime Minister-designate include choosing a candidate who respects the will of the voters and enjoys public trust. The candidate must have a successful track record in managing state affairs and holding executive positions, along with possessing a realistic vision and a government program to address upcoming challenges. Furthermore, national acceptance and official endorsement by a force within the Coordination Framework are crucial for the candidate's selection.

In the event that consensus cannot be reached on selecting the Prime Minister-designate, the coalition proposes employing an alternative mechanism, which may involve considering the electoral weights within the Coordination Framework.
