Basra Governor Pledges Support for Journalists in Meeting with Iraqi Journalists Syndicate

Basra: Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani met with Moayyad Al-Lami, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, to discuss the current state of journalism and explore opportunities for joint cooperation. During the meeting, Al-Eidani emphasized the need to support journalists in the province, ensuring they receive their due rights and are able to fulfill their professional mission.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Eidani highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts with the journalistic community to accurately portray Basra and highlight its achievements. He also stressed the significance of addressing the observations made by journalists on the ground. The local government recognizes the role of the media in promoting transparency and is committed to resolving any concerns raised to improve services and enhance institutional performance.

Moayyad Al-Lami, head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, commended the Basra Governorate for its support of journalists, reaffirming the syndicate's readiness to enhance cooperation in a manner that serves media work and reflects the true image of the governorate.

Aqeel al-Fariji, Head of the Culture and Media Committee in the Provincial Council, underscored the importance of integration between local authorities and media institutions to support press freedom and advance the cultural and media landscape in Basra. The meeting was also attended by Sadiq al-Ali, head of the syndicate's branch in the governorate.
