Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with the newly elected Speaker of Parliament, Haibat Hamad al-Halbousi, and extended his congratulations on their election. He also acknowledged al-Halbousi’s deputies, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi and Farhad Amin Atrushi, for gaining the confidence of parliament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani highlighted the significance of this election as a step towards strengthening the political stability of Iraq’s democratic system. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the country’s higher interests and urged the completion of the remaining constitutional requirements. This completion, he noted, is essential for continuing to provide public services to citizens across various fields.
