Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari affirmed that security is not achieved by chance, but through implementing a plan, and that the next phase is consolidating success, not resting on it. A statement by his media office indicated that al-Shammari received the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Mohammed bin Ali Koman, at the Ministry headquarters, and discussed with him a number of issues of common interest, including strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Council and the Ministry.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister and his guest later visited the Command Directorate at the Higher Institute for Security and Administrative Development. There, the minister delivered a lecture covering several important topics, including the importance of measuring results, as well as the role of professionally managed leadership decisions in creating security.

Al-Shammari stated, according to the statement, that security is not achieved by chance but through the application of a systematic approach, and that the next phase is about consolidating success, not resting on it. He also emphasized the importance of evaluating performance and touched upon other aspects of leadership management.

The Minister affirmed to the assembled leaders his confidence in their ability to shoulder the responsibility of the next phase and wished them success in fulfilling their duties in a way that preserves the security of the state and the dignity of its citizens. He addressed them, saying, 'Be worthy of the decision, for trust is built upon you, and stability is achieved through your sound leadership.'
