Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Head of the Progress Party, Mohammed al-Halbousi, emphasized the importance of unified Iraqi discourse and understandings among national forces. A statement by his media office indicated that al-Sudani received, on Thursday, the head of the Progress Party, Mohammed Rikan al-Halbousi, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed developments in the country and the region, stressing the importance of unified Iraqi discourse and understandings among national forces to confront challenges and prioritize the country’s best interests, thereby contributing to the consolidation of security and stability and the achievement of development in various sectors.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, both sides emphasized the necessity of strengthening dialogue among all political parties and Iraqi national forces to formulate a unified vision leading to the formation of a government capable of continuing the path of development and economic revival and fulfilling the aspirations of all Iraqis.
The security situation in Syria was also discussed, with emphasis placed on supporting the government’s recent measures to ensure that terrorists do not escape from prisons within Syrian territory.
