Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani and President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized the importance of fulfilling constitutional requirements and moving towards forming a government capable of completing the development and economic revival process.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Prime Minister’s office indicated that “al-Sudani received the President today, Sunday, and the meeting addressed the general situation in the country and developments in the region, particularly the events in Syria. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of maintaining national unity and coordinating positions in support of the government’s measures and steps to confront current challenges in a way that preserves Iraq’s supreme interest.”

The meeting also stressed the importance of fulfilling constitutional requirements and moving towards forming a government capable of completing the development and economic revival process and meeting the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
