Baghdad: The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Mohammed Saman Agha, welcomed the nomination of Nouri al-Maliki by the Coordination Framework for the position of Prime Minister of Iraq. In a congratulatory message, he expressed the Iraqi Turkmen Front’s appreciation for the nomination, highlighting al-Maliki’s political and administrative experience and his role in managing the state. He affirmed support for any constitutional path aimed at forming a strong and effective government capable of preserving Iraq’s security and unity, providing services, and strengthening political stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Agha emphasized that the Turkmen are an integral national component and a true partner in building the Iraqi state. He stressed the necessity of guaranteeing their constitutional, political, and administrative rights through fair and equitable representation in ministries and independent bodies. He also called for granting them their due share of positions as undersecretaries and directors-general, and for including qualified Turkmen in security and military leadership roles, particularly in the Ministries of Defense and Interior, in a manner consistent with national balance and that enhances security and stability.
He urged the incoming government to adopt a partnership policy that guarantees justice and equality in the management of state institutions.
