Kirkuk: Mohammed al-Hafiz, head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, affirmed his rejection of appointing individuals from outside the province to positions within the Kirkuk police command, emphasizing that “the council will take all necessary legal measures to halt these actions.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hafiz stated, “A delegation from the council will visit the Minister of the Interior in the coming days to discuss the matter and work towards stopping any appointments from outside Kirkuk to security positions.”

He pointed out that “Kirkuk possesses qualified individuals from among its own people who are capable of managing security positions efficiently,” stressing his rejection of reassigning any person from another province to these positions within Kirkuk.
