Sheikh Hammoudi: The Unity Of The Coordination Framework And The Majority Decision Are A Guarantee For Protecting The Political Process

Baghdad: The head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, affirmed that “the unity of the coordinating framework and the majority decision are guarantees for protecting the political process.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a speech during a Ramadan evening commemorating the seventeenth anniversary of the passing of Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, Sheikh Hamoudi said, “Remembering national leaders represents an opportunity to strengthen unity and renew commitment to principles,” stressing that “protecting the political process requires prioritizing Iraq’s supreme interest.”

He added that “the Aziz of Iraq (the dear of Iraq) embodied a national model in defending the oppressed and conveying the suffering of the Iraqi people to international forums.”

Regarding the current political situation, Sheikh Hamoudi called on political forces to abandon self-interest and adhere to the spirit of collective action, emphasizing that “the coordinating framework’s commitment to the majority decision in constitutional matters strengthens stability and preserves national autonomy.”

He warned that “weakening any political front will negatively impact the overall national landscape,” stressing “the need to preserve and develop the Iraqi governance experience to meet the challenges.”
