Baghdad: The National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized today, Monday, the importance of Iraqi diplomacy in de-escalating tensions in the region. The National Security Advisor’s media office stated in a press release that “National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added that “the two sides reviewed the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, in addition to emphasizing the importance of Iraqi diplomacy in de-escalating tensions in the region.”
The statement continued, ‘Al-Araji praised the distinguished role played by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its openness and engagement with sensitive files and issues in the region,’ emphasizing ‘the necessity for Iraq to continue its efforts to maintain the security and stability of the region, in a way that preserves its national interests and spares the region and the world the repercussions of the widening conflict.’
