Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, affirmed Iraq’s commitment to developing relations with Lebanon and supporting its security and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s Media Office released a press statement indicating that al-Halbousi received the new Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Khalil Abdullah Muhammad.

The statement mentioned that at the start of the meeting, the Speaker congratulated the Lebanese Ambassador on his new role and wished him success. Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields to benefit the common interests of both nations.

During the discussions, the Speaker reiterated Iraq’s dedication to fostering bilateral ties and supporting the Lebanese populace to ensure their security and stability. The Lebanese Ambassador, in turn, conveyed the greetings of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament to Halbousi, expressing gratitude for Iraq’s supportive stance towards Lebanon.
