Basra: The Ministry of Interior denied reports of gunfire from the Kuwaiti side towards one of the border points within Basra Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior dismissed the claims circulating in some media outlets and on social media platforms about gunfire from Kuwait towards a border point in Iraq’s Basra Governorate. The Ministry stated these reports are completely false, emphasizing no such incident has been recorded in its jurisdiction. The border situation remains normal and stable.

The Ministry urged media outlets to ensure accuracy and consult official sources before reporting news. It cautioned against spreading rumors that could create confusion and affect the strong relations between Iraq and Kuwait.

Additionally, the Ministry asserted its legal right to take action against individuals or entities disseminating false news that could compromise security and stability.
