Baghdad: Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, emphasized the importance of supporting the democratic process and strengthening political stability during his meeting with US Special Envoy to Iraq, Tom Barrack.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Maliki’s office indicated that the meeting addressed developments in the Iraqi political landscape and upcoming national priorities. The head of the State of Law Coalition stressed the importance of supporting the democratic process and strengthening political stability, emphasizing the need to respect Iraq’s autonomy and the choices of its people. The two sides affirmed their commitment to continued communication and coordination on issues of mutual interest.

For his part, Barrack noted the important role Iraq plays in resolving regional problems, mitigating conflict, supporting dialogue, and combating terrorism.
