Baghdad: The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced the extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all arriving, departing, and transiting aircraft for 24 hours, starting at 12:00 PM today until 12:00 PM tomorrow, as a temporary and precautionary measure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, “This measure comes based on the continuous assessment of the security situation and in light of developments and regional tensions in the area, and following a comprehensive review of relevant data. The decision will be reassessed in light of any new developments.”

The statement added that airlines and relevant authorities will be notified of any updates issued in this regard.
