Martyrs Foundation Employee Arrested for Bribery in Salah al-Din

Salah al-din: The Integrity Commission caught an employee in the Martyrs Foundation branch in Salah al-Din red-handed accepting a bribe. The staff of the Federal Integrity Commission in Salah al-Din Governorate arrested an employee of the Martyrs Foundation branch in the governorate for demanding money in exchange for performing his job duties.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission stated in a press release that its Salah al-Din Investigation Office formed a team that went to the Martyrs Foundation in the governorate and set up a sting operation to arrest one of the department's employees after receiving information that he had extorted money from a client in order to expedite his paperwork submitted to the Foundation. The statement added that the accused was arrested in possession of the bribe money he had received.

The operation was carried out based on an arrest warrant issued by the judge of the Salah al-Din Investigation Court, which specializes in integrity cases. The judge ordered the arrest of the accused, who was caught in the act, in accordance with Article (307) of the Penal Code.
