The iranian foreign ministry condemned the united states’ blatant violation of article 10 of the islamabad memorandum of understanding: The Tasnim International News Agency reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement Wednesday morning strongly condemning the US Treasury Department’s decision to revoke the temporary suspension of the embargo on Iranian oil sales. The statement asserted that this constitutes a flagrant violation of Article 10 of the Memorandum of Understanding, which ended the war on June 18, 2016, and holds the US government responsible for the consequences of this breach of its promise.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the US Treasury Department had revoked a general authorization issued less than a month prior, which had allowed Iran to sell oil and petrochemical products. The statement added: “With less than twenty days having passed since the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the announcement of the revocation of the general authorization issued on June 21 is further evidence of the malicious intentions, instability, and lack of credibility of the current US administration.”

This comes at a time when the United States, directly or through the Zionist entity’s attacks against Lebanon, has committed repeated violations, both minor and serious, of various provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) over the past twenty days.

The statement continued: Since the signing of the MOU on June 18, the Islamic Republic of Iran has strived in good faith and with all its capabilities to fulfill its obligations under the MOU. However, the US government, as usual, has sought to justify this with various excuses while simultaneously violating its commitments.

The statement concluded by saying: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while warning of the consequences of the US violation of the agreement, will take any action it deems necessary to protect Lebanon, its interests, and its national security.
