Basra: A committee has convened to deliberate on applications for administrative positions in Basra. The meeting took place after the application period ended, as initiated by the council.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Aqeel Al-Fariji, the head of the security committee in the Basra Provincial Council, announced in a press release that the committee’s meeting was chaired by himself and included Baidaa Al-Nahi, the head of the Integrity Committee, and Zahraa Al-Salmi, the head of the Legal Committee. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Provincial Council, Khalaf Al-Badran. The committee commenced the review of applications to prepare a list of candidates for submission to the council leadership, which will vote on the nominations in an upcoming session.
