Atroshi and Hammoudi Pledge Support for Anti-Corruption Measures


Baghdad: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad Atroshi and President of The Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq Sheikh Humam Hammoudi have jointly expressed their support for the initiatives undertaken by the government, judicial, and oversight bodies to combat corruption.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Deputy Speaker’s Media Office released a statement detailing a meeting between Atroshi, several parliament members, and Sheikh Hammoudi. The discussion centered on recent political developments in Iraq, with a focus on the legislative body’s role and responsibilities on a national and constitutional level.



The statement further emphasized that both parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at eradicating financial and administrative corruption. This support aims to safeguard public funds, foster stability, and unify political forces to serve Iraq’s higher interests and fulfill the aspirations of its citizens.
