Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice held discussions with the French Consulate in Baghdad regarding the situation of French nationals in correctional facilities. The meeting focused on the conditions of these inmates and the bilateral cooperation in the legal field between Iraq and France.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Justice released a statement detailing the meeting between Ahmed Laibi Abdul Hussein, the Director General of the Department of Judicial Relations, and Ms. Fr©d©rique Martineau, the French Consul. The discussion aimed at enhancing joint cooperation and exchanging expertise to improve work mechanisms and institutional performance in the legal sector.
The statement further mentioned that both parties examined the conditions of the French inmates, including their health status and the schedule of official visits, all in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
