Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi has confirmed the Parliament’s commitment to bolstering the Legal Committee’s efforts in drafting and reviewing legislation. This support underscores the committee’s crucial role in preparing legislation prior to its submission to Parliament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi participated in a consultative meeting with the Legal Committee on Tuesday. The meeting focused on discussing the committee’s working mechanisms and outlining its legislative priorities for the coming period. Members of the Legal Committee conveyed their gratitude for the support extended by Parliament’s leadership. They emphasized the importance of this backing in equipping parliamentary committees with the necessary resources to fulfill their legislative and oversight responsibilities effectively, thereby enhancing overall parliamentary performance.
