Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced today the monthly figures for the number of inmates released by the Iraqi Corrections Department during July 2026, stating that the total number reached 519 inmates in Baghdad and several other governorates.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry explained in a statement that among those released, 345 inmates were freed under various judicial decisions. Additionally, the number of inmates covered by the General Amnesty Law reached 174.
The Ministry affirmed that the Iraqi Corrections Department continues to monitor and implement release procedures after the completion of all legal requirements, in accordance with the approved legal frameworks. This reflects its commitment to performing its professional and humanitarian duty with the highest levels of accuracy and responsibility.
