Basra: The General Company for Maritime Transport, an affiliate of the Ministry of Transport, has successfully obtained a certificate of compliance with the requirements set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
According to Iraqi News Agency, the company received this certification from the French classification society after undergoing rigorous auditing and technical evaluation processes aligned with internationally approved maritime standards. This milestone is pivotal for the company, ensuring maritime safety and facilitating the smooth operation of international trade by preventing ship detentions in global ports and eliminating legal barriers.
The company's Director General, Ahmed Jassim, emphasized that this certification marks a significant achievement, highlighting the company's dedication to implementing top-tier maritime safety practices, management systems, and quality standards as stipulated by international agreements.
