Baghdad: The State Administration Coalition has declared that individuals engaging in activities threatening national security are outlaws and must be combated. The coalition has reiterated its support for restricting the possession of weapons to state authorities and preventing the use of Iraqi territory as a base for attacks on neighboring countries. The coalition emphasized the urgency of forming a government and presenting the government program to the Council of Representatives for discussion and approval.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the coalition held its regular meeting at the Government Palace, with key figures like President Nizar Amidi, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, Speaker of Parliament Hebat al-Halbousi, Chief Justice Faeq Zaidan, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani, and other coalition leaders in attendance. The meeting aimed to address the country's political, security, economic, and service-related conditions, along with regional developments impacting Iraq.
The Prime Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster security and stability, enhance services, implement the ministerial program, and tackle economic and financial challenges, underscoring the government's commitment to prioritizing citizens' interests. The coalition reaffirmed its backing for initiatives to maintain security and stability, ensuring the state's exclusive control over force as per the ministerial program approved by the Council of Representatives.
The coalition condemned recent attacks on Iraqi armed forces resulting in casualties and called for compliance with the post-September 30, 2026 deadline for the state's monopoly on force. Any armed activity outside state jurisdiction after this date will be addressed under the Counter-Terrorism Law.
In addressing Iraq's economic and financial situation, the coalition emphasized the need to secure essential services, diversify oil export avenues, boost non-oil revenues, and combat waste, smuggling, and corruption. At the regional level, the coalition expressed support for de-escalation efforts and dialogue, rejecting force in conflict resolution, and showing readiness to mediate in regional disputes to safeguard shared interests and regional security.
The coalition also discussed developments in neighboring countries, highlighting the importance of strengthening border security, combating terrorism, drugs, and organized crime, and fostering relations with neighboring, regional, and international partners based on mutual respect for sovereignty and non-interference in domestic affairs.
