Baghdad: At a meeting of the advisory board, the Minister of Education affirmed that investigative committees were established to correct the course and will not be a tool for settling scores. Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi, emphasized the role of these committees in ensuring institutional justice and integrity within the ministry's operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated in a press release that the minister chaired the advisory board meeting attended by senior staff and presidents of public universities. During the meeting, he highlighted that the investigative committees are formed based on ethical and legal responsibility. Their purpose is to correct the course, uphold institutional justice, and solidify principles of integrity and fairness, serving as a means to protect the institution, regulate work, and address shortcomings within the applicable legal frameworks.

The Minister of Higher Education clarified that the ministry will not allow, under any circumstances, these committees to become tools for settling scores or infringing upon the rights of faculty and staff. He emphasized that job security, preserving professional dignity, and respecting the legal rights of faculty and administrative staff are firmly established principles in the ministry's approach and among its administrative and ethical priorities.
