Karbala: The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh al-Fayyad, touched down in the holy city of Karbala on Sunday evening to supervise the execution of the security plan assigned to PMF units for the Arba'een pilgrimage to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Fayyad convened a meeting with key figures, including PMF Chief of Staff Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi, Secretary-General of the PMF Lieutenant General Tahsin Abdul Matar, and Director-General of the General Directorate of Security and Discipline Sheikh Ali al-Zaydi. The discussions focused on the security tasks allocated to PMF units and the coordination levels with other branches of the security forces involved in securing the pilgrimage.

Al-Fayyad highlighted the critical role of enhancing intelligence efforts and boosting readiness to ensure the safety of the pilgrims and the smooth passage of those arriving in Karbala. He underscored the importance of performing service-related duties and making full use of available resources to guarantee the success of the pilgrimage, ensuring a safe environment and necessary services for the millions of visitors expected to participate.
