Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture Engages with Turkmen Brotherhood Club on Cultural Heritage Cooperation

Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for Cultural Affairs, Dr. Fadhil Al-Badrani, welcomed a delegation from the Turkmen Brotherhood Club, represented by Dr. Siham Abdul-Majid Zanki and Dr. Ali Al-Bayati, to discuss strengthening cultural cooperation. The meeting, attended by Shaima Mahmoud, Director of the Center for the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, and Alaa Al-Saadoun, Director of the Human Rights Department, aimed at exploring ways to preserve Turkmen cultural heritage and enhance its presence within the Iraqi cultural landscape.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary emphasized the significance of Turkmen heritage as a crucial part of Iraqi cultural identity. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between state institutions and civil society organizations to preserve cultural diversity and spotlight its components.

The delegation from the Turkmen Brotherhood Club proposed their vision for collaboration with the Ministry through the Center for the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, in coordination with the Human Rights Department. Their focus is on implementing joint programs dedicated to documentation, research, and awareness-raising to protect cultural heritage and ensure its transmission to future generations.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to initiate a joint work program in September, featuring a series of cultural, documentary, and awareness-raising activities. These initiatives, to be executed by the Center for the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the Human Rights Department and the Turkmen Brotherhood Club, aim to elevate Turkmen heritage and augment its presence on a national scale.

Dr. Al-Badrani advocated for expanded collaboration between the Turkmen Brotherhood Club and other Ministry entities, emphasizing the need for integrated implementation of cultural initiatives and stronger partnerships with community institutions.

The Turkmen Brotherhood Club delegation expressed gratitude for the Undersecretary's support and praised the Ministry's dedication to sponsoring initiatives that preserve Iraq's cultural heritage, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar of national identity and a vital source of cultural diversity.
