Baghdad: Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, participated today, Tuesday, in a high-level military meeting held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He also met with the Commander of the US Central Command to discuss aspects of military cooperation and coordination, and ways to enhance joint efforts to serve security and stability.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Yahya Rasool, stated that the meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Chief of the General Staff of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces, and the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs and Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Forces in the Kurdistan Regional Government. The meeting aimed to strengthen military relations among the participating parties, consolidating joint cooperation in response to rapid developments and security challenges in the region.

Participants discussed regional security, border protection, and confronting cross-border threats. They emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination, exchanging information, and improving joint readiness to address current and future security challenges. They also highlighted the need to develop military relations, expand cooperation, and exchange expertise to bolster defense capabilities and operational readiness.
