Baghdad: Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Othman Al-Juhaishi, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Iraq, Lee Joon-il, to discuss prospects for Iraqi-Korean cooperation in developmental and social fields, and support for programs and initiatives aimed at advancing community development and empowering women.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Juhaishi emphasized the importance of benefiting from the Korean experience in capacity building and implementing development programs. He noted that cooperation with the Korean side provides broader opportunities for Iraqi non-governmental organizations to develop their capabilities in implementing community and humanitarian initiatives, thus supporting integration between governmental institutions and civil society organizations.

The two sides discussed ways to support the Iraqi women’s agenda, develop their capabilities, and expand their participation in economic, social, and developmental fields, as well as increase their presence in leadership and decision-making positions.
