Babil: The Babil Provincial Council, in conjunction with the Governorate, has initiated legal proceedings against Sheikh Adnan al-Janabi following his controversial statements about the region of Jurf al-Nasr. During a regular session held on Tuesday, the council resolved to take legal action in response to al-Janabi’s allegations that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have occupied Jurf al-Nasr.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Babil Council Chairman Asaad al-Muslawi confirmed that the council tasked its legal committee and the province’s legal department with pursuing the lawsuit against Sheikh Adnan al-Janabi. The council has already commenced its legal procedures in this matter. This move underscores the tension between the local government and individuals making public accusations against the PMF, highlighting the sensitive nature of security and territorial control in the region.
