Faihan Engages State Forces Bloc on Parliamentary Priorities and Committee Selection


Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, convened with the National State Forces Alliance parliamentary bloc to address the challenges of the current phase and outline the priorities of parliamentary work. The meeting focused on the latest national developments, the pressing challenges facing the nation, and the strategic priorities for parliamentary engagement.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Faihan’s office revealed that the discussions emphasized the significance of aligning positions on crucial issues and files, with the objective of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty, ensuring its security and stability, and shielding it from the impacts of surrounding regional crises. Faihan reiterated that the Parliament’s leadership has set specific criteria for selecting heads of parliamentary committees to guarantee efficient and stable parliamentary performance during the present session.



Furthermore, Faihan highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to enhance the legislative and oversight functions of the Council, responding to the current phase’s priorities and the citizens’ needs. He underlined the necessity for cooperation among national forces to reinforce the rule of law, support constitutional institutions, and maintain ongoing coordination to tackle challenges and foster conditions conducive to development and fulfilling the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
