Ankara: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Ankara on Tuesday evening for a two-day visit at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to discuss developments in Palestine and the region, as well as to strengthen bilateral relations between Palestine and Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Abbas was welcomed at the airport by Turkish Trade Minister -mer Polat and Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara, Nasri Abu Jaish. The visit is set to include talks with President Erdogan, focusing on key regional issues and the enhancement of cooperation between the two nations.

President Abbas is accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, including Ziad Abu Amr, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization; Majid Faraj, head of the General Intelligence Service; Majdi al-Khalidi, the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs; and Mahmoud al-Habash, the President’s Advisor for Religious Affairs and Chief Justice. The visit is scheduled to continue until next Thursday.
