Babil: A new political bloc called “Babylon of Civilization” was announced today in Babil Governorate. The bloc, comprised of eight of the 16 council members, will operate as a political opposition to other blocs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, council member Abdul Salam al-Azzawi stated, “The bloc includes diverse political viewpoints within the council. Its goals are to rectify the political process, oppose certain decisions of the local government, and directly oversee the work of state departments and institutions.”
