Diwaniyah: Fake pages used for extortion in Diwaniyah have been shut down. Diwaniyah Police announced they have taken control of a large number of fake social media pages and identified their owners.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement, the police said, “This campaign targets pages that were targeting a large number of government employees, public figures, and politicians.” The statement added, “These pages are managed by individuals who have been identified and are being prepared for arrest and public exposure.”

Furthermore, the Falcons Cell confirmed they have identified more than 40 individuals who were using anonymous accounts to target people and spread false news, and announced they have taken control of these anonymous groups.
